Terry Lindsay, E-RYT 500, is a certified Kripalu and Yin Yoga
instructor. He started practicing yoga in 2001 and teaching in 2009.
His yoga practice has helped him lose weight, reduce stress, improve
his flexibility and core strength, and become more accepting of
himself and others. He wants these benefits for his students too. He
has expanded his understanding of yoga and his personal practice by
studying under the guidance of senior yoga teachers like Doug Keller,
John Schumacher, Judith Hanson Lasater, Cyndi Lee, Mark Stephens, Biff
Mithoefer, and Ray Long. Terry teaches alignment centered Hatha Yoga
and Vinyasa Flow, informed by his passionate study of human anatomy
and kinesiology—the study of the human body’s movement. His teaching
reflects his daily personal practice, founded in traditional yoga
asanas (postures), pranayama (breath control), and meditation. His
classes pay close attention to the inner practice of yoga,
experiencing the physical moment of the posture, the breath, and
cultivating the wisdom of self-observation. His students are invited
to be where they are in the practice, emphasizing safety, health, and
personal transformation. Jala’s Harmony Room studio location is his
second home, having practiced and taught yoga in the space since 2005.
He offers welcoming compassion and kindness to all who pass through
the Harmony Room threshold.
