AcroYoga, with guest teacher with Vanessa King, Friday May 25, 6-8 PM, Trust, Connect and PLAY!
All levels, all ages, all people are welcome to join the AcroYoga CommUNITY! This workshop provides a safe environment to explore trust, connection and playfulness. Teachers will combine elements from Yoga, Acrobatics, and Thai Massage. The workshop can include: asana sequences, partner yoga, assisted inversions, basic partner acrobatics, therapeutic flying and Thai massage. After enjoying a sample of the many elements of the practice, you will have first hand experience of what makes up AcroYoga. No yoga experience required, no partner needed. The main focus of Pilates centers on the “core” area, which includes the abdominal muscles and lower back. In this mat classes, we will learn and execute all of the original Pilates moves developed by Joseph Pilates. We’ll combine 45 minutes of Pilates with 5-10 minutes of stretching. The benefits of introducing Pilates into your workout plan are amazing. You will feel taller, stronger, leaner and much more toned. Laura Lowe has been teaching The Pilates Method for 10 years. After discovering the healing and strengthening benefits of Pilates, Laura trained in NYC at Re-Ab Brooke Silers Studio and earned her certification through The American Muscle and Fitness Studio.
Yoga and Poetry Workshop
Energize your current writing practice with yoga. Christa Mastrangelo Joyce will guide you through a flowing and joyful practice meant to ignite your creative energy. Learn how the creative process can be enriched by a yoga practice. Class will culminate with writing exercises. (No current dates as of now. Will schedule future dates.)
